ABOUT EAST BAY UNITED
MORE THAN A GAME. ONE CLUB. ONE COMMUNITY.
East Bay United Soccer Club is a community-driven soccer club serving players and families across Oakland and the East Bay. From a player’s first experience with the game to the highest levels of youth competition, we create opportunities to play, learn, develop, compete and belong.
We believe soccer can develop more than players. It can build confidence, friendships, character and community—and create experiences that stay with young people long after they leave the field.
OUR MISSION
A PLACE FOR EVERY PLAYER.
East Bay United exists to make soccer a healthy, enjoyable and meaningful part of growing up.
We strive to create an inclusive environment where young people can experience the game regardless of background, ability, ambition or financial circumstances, while giving every player the opportunity to develop and find the soccer experience that’s right for them.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
DEVELOP PLAYERS. DEVELOP PEOPLE.
We coach the player and the person. Development isn’t measured only by wins, rankings or the level a player reaches. It’s also found in confidence, responsibility, resilience, relationships and the way our players represent themselves and their community.
COMMUNITY — Use our strengths to support and uplift others.
INTEGRITY — Do what is right, even when nobody is watching.
LOYALTY — Represent and support something bigger than ourselves.
COMMITMENT — Show up for our teammates, families and club.
CHARACTER — Compete with respect and carry our values beyond the field.
ONE CLUB
WE BELONG TO SOMETHING BIGGER.
Players don’t simply play for a team. Coaches don’t simply coach a team. We represent a club.
Teams, coaches and age groups may change throughout a player’s journey, but East Bay United remains the connection. Our players belong to the club, not to an individual coach or team, and ultimately, this club belongs to them.
OUR STORY
ROOTED IN THE EAST BAY. SINCE 1980.
1980 — BAY OAKS
Bay Oaks begins its journey and grows into a nationally recognized competitive soccer program.
ROCKRIDGE SOCCER CLUB
A strong neighborhood soccer tradition develops in Oakland, creating recreational opportunities for generations of local players.
2011 — EAST BAY UNITED SOCCER CLUB
Bay Oaks and Rockridge come together to create East Bay United Soccer Club, combining community-based soccer with an established competitive pathway.
TODAY — ONE CLUB. MULTIPLE PATHWAYS.
EBU Grassroots. Bay Oaks Competitive. EBU Programs. One connected club serving players across the East Bay.
OUR COMMUNITY
EAST BAY ISN’T JUST IN OUR NAME. IT’S WHO WE ARE.
We are proud to call Oakland and the East Bay home. Our fields are gathering places where players from different neighborhoods, schools, cultures and backgrounds come together around the same game.
Different players. Different ambitions. One community.
SINCE 1980 • 50,000+ PLAYERS SERVED • $350K FINANCIAL AID IN 2026
ACCESS TO THE GAME
OPPORTUNITY SHOULDN’T DEPEND ON A FAMILY’S ABILITY TO PAY.
We believe every young person should have the opportunity to experience soccer. Our Financial Aid Program helps remove economic barriers so families can choose the soccer experience that’s right for their child.
In 2026 alone, East Bay United provided more than $350,000 in financial aid to our families.
