REFEREE'S CORNER

We don't have the same jersey but we have the same passion.

Our club and our community need referees in order to get our kids to play. No referee, no game.

Each Recreational team is expected to provide at least 1 referee who would cover 4 to 6 games per season. Competitive team should have at least 1 referee to cover between 7 to 10 games per season. We understand you may not know how to ref, you may be scared, but It doesn't take long to get trained or re-certified online, and JLYSL will reimburse our families for the cost of the course after officiating in 6 games. There are many perks when you become a referee too! Don’t hesitate, be part of the game!

How to become a referee or renew your certification?

• STEP 1: Register for and pass the referee course. Click here
• STEP 2: Take the course.
• STEP 3: Get your uniform and gear either online or at SoccerPost in Alameda. 
• STEP 4: Sign up on Sportlynx to join the JLYSL program. Affiliate to your team. Here
• STEP 5: Request games using Sportlynx. 
• STEP 6: Officiate in a game.
• STEP 7: Submit a Game Report on Sportlynx. 
• STEP 8: Get paid via check by mail or direct deposit... don't spend it all in one place!

After 6 games, JLYSL will give you a $65 bonus which covers the licensing fees. After 10 games, you would get a $10 bonus per game. Find below the compensation rate for each game.
