U6 3v3 Program

Kindergarten age children join a team coached by parent volunteers with support from our professional coaching staff. Teams meet on Saturdays for a one hour session that follows the "Play, Practice, Play" methodology:

- Team Huddle

- PLAY - 1st 15 minute 3v3 game with another team

- PRACTICE - 15-20 minutes of fun learning activities to help develop players technical skills. Sample practice plans provided by the club.

- PLAY - 2nd 15 minute 3v3 game with another team

- Closing Huddle

Games are "grassroots" style, with kick-ins (instead of throw-ins), no referees, no goalies, and no keeping score. The environment is designed to increase engagement, and maximize the time that each player spends with the ball (dribbling, shooting, and yes, even passing sometimes!). U6 3v3 Teams have a roster of 10-12 players.

Saturdays, April 10 - May 29th, 2021 @ Alameda Point

11:15am - 12:15pm

Saturdays, September 11 - October 30th, 2021

@ Bushrod Park (Oakland)

U8 4v4 Program
1st & 2nd Graders

1st and 2nd Graders join a team coached by parent volunteers with support from our professional coaching staff. Teams meet on Saturdays for a one hour session that includes two 4v4 games with another team.

Games are "grassroots" style, with kick-ins (instead of throw-ins), no referees, no goalies, and no keeping score. The environment is designed to maximize the time that each player spends with the ball (dribbling, shooting, and yes, even passing sometimes!)

During the Fall Season, 4v4 teams meet once a week on a weekday for a 60 minute practice with their parent coaches. During the spring our 4v4 teams do not have weekday team practices; however, players are encouraged to also sign up for Soccer School classes for more game time and development. U8 4v4 Teams have a roster of 10-12 players.

Weekday Practices & Saturday Games

Now, more than ever, we are counting on volunteer power to make our rec program successful! Volunteers DO NOT need to commit to the whole six-month Winter/Spring Season. We are taking a flexible approach to forming groups and scheduling practices—the goal is get as many children active playing as much as possible!

All volunteers will get direct support on how to lead successful, fun and safe activities under the current restrictions. Parent Volunteers will be required to complete an online safety training before hitting the field. Additional training & support for Parent Volunteers is available, including:

- US Soccer Learning Center (online courses)

- On-field support during activities
- SafeSport Certification

- Sideline Sports Injury Recognition Training

- Positive Coaching Alliance

- One-on-one support from our experienced EBU Staff Coaches

STEP 1 - Team Registration

CLICK HERE  to register your U6 or U8 EBU Juniors and pay the $50 Team Registration Fee

STEP 2 - Roster Setup

Email our Registrar to let us  know whether you already have a full or partial group/team of players registered to participate. Volunteer Coaches may either work with a team that's already formed, with a new group of players, or a mix of both. When players register they have the option to indicate which team/coach they would like to be with. Maximum roster size is 12 players for U6 and U8 teams.

STEP 3 - Recruit Parent Volunteers

Each team needs 2-3 committed parent volunteers. This includes the head coach, plus an assistant coach and/or team manager. All volunteer coaches and team managers MUST complete Steps 4 & 5 unless they already did so during Fall 2020. Teams will not be assigned a practice field slot until their parent volunteers have completed Steps 4 and 5.

STEP 4 - COVID-19 Safety Training

All coaches and team managers must review the COVID-19 Safety Protocols, watch the COVID-19 Coaches Safety Training Video (27 minutes), and sign the COVID-19 Waiver electronically.

STEP 5 - Background Check, Training & Registration

All parent volunteers (coaches and team managers) must register with the California Youth Soccer Association. New coaches must also complete the background check, be fingerprinted, and complete the online SafeSport training. New coaches, please make sure to print the Request for Live Scan Form at the end.  You need to present this form when you are fingerprinted.  Check the OCA Numbers on the form they should read as follows"

District = 04

League = 14

Club = 07

To get fingerprinted, take this form to one of the approved Capital Live Scan vendors listed at this link.

You will not need to pay any Fee as long as you have correctly filled out the "Cal North Live Scan Form"

Upon completing Coach/Manager registration, you will receive an email with a link to begin the SafeSport training.  The link will direct you to an access code that you must copy and use to begin the training.

STEP 6 - Coaching Kit

Email us to coordinate getting your EBU REC Coaching Kit, including attendance roster, no-contact thermometer, safety protocol, and more. We can supply additional coaching equipment to coaches as needed (cones, balls, etc).

STEP 7 - Team Binder

Collect Cal North Player Registration Forms from each player in your pod/team BEFORE they participate in any on-field activities.

STEP 9 - Game On!

Hit the field, be safe and have fun!

EBU JUNIORS 3v3 (U6) and 4v4 (U8)

All players need to register for the Winter/Spring 2021 Program, even if they played during the all 2020 Season.

Complete the Player Registration on Teamsnap using the correct link on our Program Registration Page (look for U6 Player, U8 Boys Player or U8 Girls Player Registration Link). This includes paying the $150 player registration fee for the Winter/Spring 2021 Season.

Review the COVID-19 Safety Policies and Procedures, then and electronically sign the INFORMED CONSENT WAIVER.

If you did not already do so during Fall 2020, Complete the Cal North Player Registration Form and email it to our club Registrar. Please note that you will need to print out and actually sign this form—electronic signatures will not be accepted by Cal North. We recommend downloading and using the Genius Scan or similar app that allows you to easily take a picture of a paper form and turn it into a pdf file that you can them email back to us. You will also need to provide a hard copy of the form to your child's Volunteer Coach/Team Manager.

Once you have completed Steps 1-3 your child will be placed on a Teamsnap Roster. If you have requested to placed on a specific team and that team has space, we will add your child to that team roster. Your child may be placed on a temporary Waiting List while we work on their team placement.  If your child was already on a team that played during the fall, they will remain on that team unless you request otherwise. If you child's team played in the 2019/20 season and is now returning for Spring 2021, your child will have priority if you request to rejoin that team. If your child is registering for the first time, or if their former EBU Juniors team is not participating this spring, they will be a free agent and we will work to place them on a new team.

Make sure your child has the right gear/equipment to play.

Hit the field, be safe and have fun!
