Todd Morrish

Todd has lived in Oakland, CA, for 25 years. He is married and lives in the Rockridge area with his wife and two daughters, both having played soccer for Bay Oaks and Bishop O-Dowd High School. When not on the field with his Bay Oaks team or spending time with his family or riding his mountain bike, Todd works as a Product Manager in the high-tech industry.

Playing & Coaching Career

Todd played at various levels of youth soccer including: recreational, regional, and state competitions locally in Lafayette, CA, and at Acalanes High School, where the Men’s Varsity team won its league championship three years in a row and the NCS Championship once. His CYSA State Select team competed in several international tournaments, including one in Italy where they defeated the U17 Italian youth champions, Juventus. Todd also played in Germany for a Bavarian Academy team before joining the University of California at Berkeley Varsity squad where it climbed to a #7 national rating. While at Cal, he also was an active high school referee. Todd started his coaching career with the Rockridge Soccer Club, a member of the Jack London Youth Soccer Sports League, where he coached for eight years. Todd is in his ninth year of coaching competitive soccer for Bay Oaks.

Welcome to the new members of the

Bay Oaks Coaching Staff!

Marianna Sullivan

A passion for coaching soccer and love of family brought Marianna to the Bay Area from Virginia four years ago. Her work in Virginia with McLean Soccer Club was with ECNL and CCSL teams, and she ran the Recreational Programs for littles: pre-travel soccer stage. But the family’s oldest daughter was teaching HS in Oakland, while the youngest was playing soccer at Stanford. To be able to continue coaching while still enjoying watching the college games, the only solution was for Marianna and her husband John to move across the country. Her connections led her to coach in MVLA. She had two top teams of 2007G, and Pre-Competitive Director allowed her to continue her joy: introducing the game to the youngest of players.

However, living in Alameda while coaching in the South Bay was not ideal and Marianna wanted to put down roots in the local community. After meeting Jon Nishimoto, she jumped at the chance to work in EBU Bay Oaks.  Coach Marianna currently coaches the Bay Oaks 2011's and the 2006 girls teams. Marianna will also be working with the EBU Juniors program.

Marianna has coached soccer for nearly 25 years, ages 3-18. She holds the United Soccer Coaches Premier and USSF C and National Youth Licenses. She continues to study the game and coaching through travel and courses. World Football Academy, La Liga Methodology courses and TOVO Barcelona are big influences. She is a huge National Womens Soccer League(NWSL) supporter where her daughter Andi is the Captain for the Washington Spirits. Marianna is excited to be a part of the future here at EBU Bay Oaks.

Fabian Plascencia

Fabian Plascencia has coached soccer for over 35 years in the Bay Area. He coached with Bay Oaks for 25 years before taking a break in 2009. He now returns to coaching after taking a 10 year break. Aside from his many years coaching, Fabian played professionally for Pumas, a 1st division team in Mexico. He also played with many semi-pro teams in the Bay Area. We are excited to welcome back Fabian to the club, coaching our 2010 Bay Oaks Boys White team.

Julio Cervantes

Julio Cervantes is an Alum of Bay Oaks and an Oakland native. Julio played multiple years with the club before moving to the San Jose Earthquakes Academy. After club soccer, Julio attended Merritt College in Oakland. He then transferred to University of Pacific in Stockton and played 3 years for the Tigers. His senior year at UOP, he scored 11 goals in 19 games. After college, Julio became a P.E. teacher for the Oakland Unified School District. Julio recently signed a professional playing contract with Oakland Roots SC and made his debut with the team this season. Coach Julio works with our 2011 Bay Oaks Boys pool this year.
